MYBAND INTERNATIONAL is a London-based business that works with school rock and popular music bands.
We help students with all aspects of working in a group.
Our experience as producers, song writing and performers all work within the music industry.
We help prepare your bands for Battle of the Bands, school performance or to help with being confident playing in an ensemble.
FOCUS
PERFORMANCE
Stage presence, band identity and projection. Learning a song is one part of the equation. Selling the song to audience another skill.
PRACTISE
How to work on the details to make a song tight, cohesive and dynamic. The art of creating a strong rhythm section. Breaking songs down to hone-in on the details.
PREPARATION
Getting a decent sound. Understanding your equipment works. How to balance the sound. Understand how to maximise your sound-check.
SONG-WRITING
How to write a song as a band. How to transcribe and rework a cover.
RECORDING (Optional)
Using a DAW to demo or write a track. Simple ways of using music technology that can translate to a band session. Or create a backing track to images.
Marcel Pusey – Director, Song Writer, Musical Director & Bass Player
Creator and Director of Award-Winning Music Company, Bassistry Music, Marcel’s work takes him to the UK, US, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and to Europe.
Marcel has composed for television, film and multimedia. Music director and composer of nu jazz band Bassistry, they have released 4 albums. The band comprises of some of UK stellar musicians. Marcel is curator and composer for Production Music Company, MediaTracks. He co-developed educational music app, OGenPlus with business partner Mark Welland and music platform, Cool4School. Marcel’s experience and connections in the music industry has been instrumental in creating the careers in the Music Industry, Creative Pathways.
MyBand format has successfully been used at schools in the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore.
Cassell the BeatMaker – Ivor Novello Award Winning, Song Writer/Producer, Drummer
Cassell is the Founder and Director of ITM (In the Making). ITM develops talented young artists. Supported by PPL, the Ivor Novello Academy, The Ed Sheeran Foundation this highly successful course has provide industry advise and opportunity to many up-and-coming artists.
Cassell drums for ‘The Streets’, touring the world, playing the biggest stages and festivals such a Reading, Glastonbury, the O2. Cassell has performed with some of the biggest names. He takes his expertise as a producer and drummer into the classroom, helping students get the best of working with DAW’s, and helping hone band’s rhythm section.
Nicola Gawthrop – Vocalist, Educator & Musical Director
Nicola is Director of Vocal Works. She runs her own music school. Nicola expertise as a vocalist and classical pianist skills has been used to take students through vocal and performance exams.
Nicola is an established performer and session singer. She is the vocalist for Bassistry and teaches Cool4School songs for schools in the UK. She continues to teach singing at schools in the SE of the UK.
